Boudoir Photoshoot Makeovers & Styling

Glamour and boudoir makeovers and styling can be as natural or as glamorous as you like.

We think that making you look your best without making you look like someone else is very important. That's why we do our best to keep the makeup and styling as simple as possible.

Our motto is simply to enhance, not re-create! Over-done, packed-on makeup definitely isn't something we subscribe to or believe in.

The aim isn't to hide what's underneath, but to prepare you for the camera, highlight your best features and bring out your confidence. That's what makes brilliant photos!

Hair and makeup styling is quite a surprise for some clients. It can be very different to what they're used to. Some people are even initially unsure, but in the end EVERYONE has always been thrilled when they see the results.

Makeup for photography can be quite different to the makeup you normally wear. And and lets face it, not everyone is an expert in this area so our stylist may do things a little differently to what you're used to. They have an eye for seeing how to maximise your individual features, with different makeup techniques and use of shades that you may never even have thought wearable.

As for hair styling, so many of our clients have made comments such as, "I didn't know my hair could be styled like that!", or "My hair dresser told me my hair would never go into this sort of style!"

Styling is always done to a level that clients are happy with. Some people worry about not looking like themselves or being too made-up, but there's no standard application when it comes to styling. It literally can be as natural and fresh or sexy and smoldering as you wish. But we always keep you looking like you, just at your very best.

What to Bring to Your Photoshoot

The main thing with your photo shoot is to be relaxed, have fun and let your hair down. We call it a shoot but remember, it's only with a camera and doesn't hurt a bit!

You may be a little nervous at first, but virtually all our clients tell us that after fifteen minutes or so they're having so much fun, they can't even remember what they were so worried about.

It's very important to bring a good variety of outfits in different styles and colors, unless you have a very specific idea in mind, such as a beach or bedroom theme. Remember, it's always better to bring something and not need it than want it and not have it!

Have some fun, go out and treat yourself to that indulgence you've been wanting. Treat yourself to something naughty or nice, and if you're doing the photo shoot for or with a partner, think about what they would like you in or how they would like to see you styled.

Here are a few suggestions of what to bring with you on the day . . .

  • Bra & panty sets
  • Babydolls
  • Corsets
  • Delicate robes
  • Bodies & teddies
  • Wedding lingerie
  • Your partner's shirt
  • Stockings/hold-ups
  • Jeans
  • Button-up shirts
  • Singlet/tank tops
  • Shorts/skirts etc. to match your tops
  • Kimonos
  • Lacy vest tops
  • Camisoles
  • High heels/stilettos
  • Denim shorts
  • Any sentimental props

We have some props for our clients to use in their photo shoots, but everyone has different ideas and preferences so it's not always easy to cater to everyone.

To give you an idea of a few popular ideas and accessories people like to bring to photo shoots, here are some more items you might consider throwing in your bag when you come in:

  • Crops
  • Whips
  • Cuffs
  • Fans
  • Hats
  • Fur stoles
  • Borellos
  • Gloves
  • Atomisers
  • Suitcases

I'm sure there are many more ideas you can think of!

Another important item to remember is jewellery.

We suggest you don't bring anything valuable to outdoor or location photo shoots as it can possibly be lost, but jewellery and accessories make a BIG impact in pictures and can really be that finishing touch. Hats, glasses and gloves are also simple things that can make a big difference to the look and feel of pictures.

If you're doing a photo shoot for a partner, other very popular and effective props worth considering include:

  • Football or soccer ball
  • Cricket bat or tennis racquet
  • Football jersey
  • Helmet
  • Elbow pads, shin pads, etc.
  • Clothing items such as jackets and shirts, pyjamas, etc.
  • Favorite coloured clothing of yours or or partner

We can also photograph you with your partner's car, bike, boat, plane, truck, etc. These are all things we've included in photo shoots before to give clients really personalized pictures.

There is no limit to what you can do. Just let your imagination run wild and make the very most of your photo shoot. Be brave and wild. You'll be so glad you did when you see the results!
